1. Acceptance of these terms

at8pm ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Vince Urag, an individual developer. By downloading, installing, or using at8pm, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What at8pm does

at8pm is a personal journaling app. You write entries — text, photos, voice notes, and optional location tags — throughout the day. At an hour you choose (8:00 PM by default), each day's entries lock and become permanently read-only.

3. Locked entries and unlocking

This is a core, intentional feature of the app: once a day locks, its entries become read-only by default and cannot be edited or deleted through the ordinary course of using the app. We have no ability to unlock, recover, or modify a locked entry on your behalf, because we never have access to your journal content in the first place (see our Privacy Policy).

You may deliberately reopen a specific locked entry for editing by spending a purchased unlock credit, which makes that entry editable again for 24 hours. This is an opt-in action you take yourself, entry by entry — it does not change how locking works for the rest of your journal, and we still have no access to or control over the content either way. Use the lock-hour setting thoughtfully, and double-check entries before your chosen lock time.

4. Your content

You own everything you write, photograph, or record in at8pm. We claim no rights to your journal content. You're responsible for what you write and for keeping your device secure.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Continued use of at8pm to create new entries requires an at8pm Pro subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store. Optional consumable "unlock pack" purchases are also available. All purchases are processed by Apple and by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store account settings.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies — we do not process refunds directly.
• Consumable unlock packs are used upon purchase and are non-refundable once redeemed, except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use at8pm to store or transmit unlawful content, or attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or abuse the app or its underlying services.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

at8pm is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for data loss, including loss caused by device failure, iCloud account issues, or the intentional permanence of locked entries described in Section 3. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

8. Termination

You may stop using at8pm at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue the app or these terms at our discretion, with notice where reasonably possible.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
